From August 14th to 16th, the historic center of Fontanellato comes alive again with traditional stalls, the Sunday market, the Antique Market, the Luna Park, food, initiatives by local merchants, evening openings of the Rocca Sanvitale, the fireworks show, and three evenings of music with the Assunta Festival.
Fontanellato is getting ready to experience the most anticipated event of the summer. From Friday, August 14th to Sunday, August 16th, the traditional Assunta Festival returns, an event deeply tied to the history and identity of the entire Fontanellato community, which this year too will offer a program capable of involving citizens and visitors of all ages. The heart of the event will be the historic center, which throughout the Ferragosto weekend will be animated by activities, opportunities to meet, food, commerce, and entertainment. Among the traditional events will be the Festival stalls, present along the town's avenues from the morning of Friday, August 14th until late Saturday night, August 15th. This event has always been one of the defining features of the Festival and will guide citizens and visitors to discover the many offerings around the center. The commercial offering will continue on the morning of Sunday, August 16th, when the traditional Sunday market will take place, while in the area around the Rocca Sanvitale there will be the Antique Market, an event that has always attracted experts and enthusiasts in the field.
On Friday, August 14th and Saturday, August 15th, from 8 pm to 10 pm, the Museum Rocca Sanvitale will exceptionally open its doors in the evening to allow tourists and visitors to visit the ground floor of the Rocca and the precious fresco by Parmigianino.
There will also be space for traditional culinary offerings with the “Gastronomic Festival” organized by the AVIS Fontanellato volunteers in Via IV Novembre, who will offer numerous dishes from the local tradition, in an event dedicated to good food and conviviality.
Within the Festival, there will also be the Assunta Festival, which will accompany the three evenings with a musical program designed for a broad and diverse audience. On Friday, August 14th, for cartoon lovers, Giorgio Vanni will take center stage, while on Saturday, August 15th, on the Ferragosto evening, Molella and Edmmaro will perform. Closing the musical program, on Sunday, August 16th, will be “I Want to Go Back to the '90s”.
To complete the offering of these three days, there will be plenty of fun: for young and old, there will be the Luna Park, open every evening until Sunday, August 16th, with attractions dedicated to children, teenagers, and families. On the evening of Saturday, August 15th, in the Luna Park area, the traditional fireworks show will also take place, one of the most anticipated moments of Ferragosto in Fontanellato. The network of local merchants will also highlight the importance of these days with a special discount initiative, offering visitors, with a purchase at one of the participating businesses, the chance to receive vouchers and promotions from the village shops. Throughout the event, bars, restaurants, and shops will be ready to welcome the many expected visitors, helping to make the historic center a lively and vibrant place all weekend long.
Fontanellato awaits you from August 14th to 16th to experience the Assunta Festival together.
